If you’re aiming for a broad range of Science-related careers, such as Laboratory work, Forensic Analysis, Nursing, Primary Teaching or simply wish to study Science to complement other A Level subjects, Applied Science is for you. Focusing on scientific usage, and how scientists and others use science in their work, this course also allows you to study how science is applied in different professions and industries. Not only will you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment in the Science sector, you could progress to a BTEC level 3 extended certificate, which is equivalent to one A Level, or on to a higher education course.
With appropriate A Levels taken alongside Applied Science, you could go on to study courses at university like Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Science and Environmental Sciences. This could lead you to a career in Healthcare, Conservation or Environmental projects, or roles such as a Technician, Research Scientist, or an Engineer.
