Important Announcement: Relocation of QA

IMPORTANT NEWS: TEMPORARY RELOCATION OF QUEEN ALEXANDRA SIXTH FORM COLLEGE

We have undertaken a series of reviews including an estates review of our sites. As part of these reviews, governors and the senior team have concluded that the maintenance and operational costs to continue teaching from our QA campus are such that they prohibit any additional investment – not just in QA but in our other sites.  We have conducted external independent surveys which reinforce our own findings.

We have therefore come to the decision to temporarily relocate Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College to our Queen Alex College campus in Wallsend.  We anticipate this temporary relocation being for a period of 12 months, from September 2020, whilst new and better facilities are sourced.

QA is an outstanding sixth form college, ranked in the top four nationally for AS achievement rates – therefore whilst the physical element is set for temporary relocation, the commitment to providing an outstanding sixth form experience remains.

The relocation will take place over the summer so we have a superb facility waiting for new and returning students when term starts in September 2020.
