Our HND Art Practice Students Take Centre Spotlight at Local Shopping Centre in Wallsend
HND Art and Design (Art Practice) students have recently showcased their creative artwork at local shopping centre, The Forum, Wallsend. Sandra Earl, HND Art and Design (Art Practice) Course Leader at Queen Alexandra said:
The forum exhibition has provided our students with a rare opportunity to Exhibit work post-lockdown. The work on show was created in the Queen Alex department at the Tyne Met Campus in September 2020. The theme of abstraction was the starting point for this introductory project. They were encouraged to be experimental and to relate the work to their individual personal experiences. They worked with great energy and enthusiasm and I am very proud of the standard of work created this early in the programme. Each student on the course has an individual studio space in which to create work and develop skills. This early exhibition has given them confidence in creating work for professional contexts and showcases a variety of ideas and approaches, making full use of the facilities and equipment at Queen Alex to produce an exciting range of work.
We have a range of HE Art courses starting this January, contact Sandra at Sandra.Earl@tynecoast.ac.uk for more info or visit our courses page.
