Course Overview

Lovers of literature will be challenged by an exciting course that will have you analysing various texts.

This course provides a real academic challenge and offers you the chance to analyse and interpret works by some of the nation’s best writers.

 

 

Analysing texts sparks debate and helps you to develop thinking skills as you apply them to a wide variety of literature in the form of prose, poetry and drama.

You will gain skills such as independent research and reading, group debate and presentations.

5 GCSEs Grade A* to C (9 to 4) including at least Grade 6 in English Language and Grade 6 in English Literature as well as an enjoyment of reading.

English Literature is an academic discipline which develops a wide range of skills.

When it comes to Higher Education, it lends itself well to most humanities or arts-based courses including, English, History, Geography, Media and Teaching Degrees.

Careers include: Teaching, Law and Journalism.
