A note to parents
Queen Alexandra is the ideal bridge between school and university. We want students to develop some independence, but ensure that they are fully supported every step of the way. From the start, they’ll be set clear expectations on areas such as punctuality, attendance, behaviour, homework and study during free periods.
We're very proud to announce that in our latest student survey (February 2011), 100% of parents were entirely satisfied with the choice of college.
Parents play a vital role in supporting students and will be invited to meet pastoral tutors to talk about their progress. Parents' evenings and regular written reports ensure that you can have confidence that student learning and progression is top of the agenda. All students receive a Personal Learning Plan (PLP) to track their progress and achievements against specific goals, and subject teachers set homework and give feedback on each piece of work showing progress against these individual student targets.
Our staff and students are very ambitious and committed to achieving the highest results. Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College students receive the same level of support and guidance that they would in school, alongside greater freedom in a more independent learning environment. Your success is our biggest achievement and we ensure that all your efforts don’t go to waste by maximising opportunities to showcase your work via the media and a range of competitions both regionally and nationally.
