Business Studies

Students with an entrepreneurial outlook will find this programme to be an incredibly powerful start on the road to running their own businesses. All of the key topics involved in starting up and running an enterprise are covered, arming students with essential knowledge and skills.

Business Studies introduces candidates to the challenges of starting a business, including financial planning. It also explores the key internal functions of business and how careful management can improve a business’s effectiveness and performance.

In the later stages of the programme, students explore strategies for larger businesses and ways of measuring business performance. The programme also considers the effects that external factors can have on businesses, how change can be planned for and managed, leadership styles and business culture.

Law

Law is a fascinating subject, which impacts on everybody’s daily life, whether they realise it or not. Exploring the standards and codes of behaviour set out for individuals and groups of people, students on this programme learn about the importance and complexity of law making and law in practice. Topics covered include civil law, civil torts, criminal law, law development and concepts of law. This is a great choice for students interested in the way society operates and is a suitable match for almost any other subject, as most are affected directly or indirectly by law.
