Course content

If you’re really into films and interested in the cinema industry then you’ll love this course. The emphasis is on you developing your own thoughts and critical views as well as working on a creative project of your own. The course is designed to deepen your understanding and enjoyment of the major art form of the twentieth century and one which is developing rapidly in this millennium. You’ll explore a wide range of films, develop skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection. You’ll visit Northumbria and Newcastle University events and regular cinema trips.

Progression and Careers

Further or higher education options include Film and Media related degrees or HNC/HND qualification Art related Degree.

Careers such as film production, TV editing and special effects technician are just some of the opportunities available.
