Study Units
AS - Written unit consisting of the study of one set play, in terms of its performance potential, and of live productions seen during the course.
A2 - Written unit requires the study of a further two set plays. In the practical units, students present a performance, working in a group. Students choose one of the following skills: Acting; Directing; Costume design; Mask design; Set design; or Technical elements (Lighting and/or Sound).
Assessment
AS - One written unit (60%) and one practical unit (40%)

This course is designed for students who enjoy reading and watching plays and taking part in drama: as a performer, director or designer. Drama and Theatre Studies helps you to analyse the ways in which different performance and production elements are brought together to create theatre. The course offers a wide choice of set plays for study and the opportunity to write about live productions as well as developing your skills in practical drama.
