College Life
Everyone has their own individual approach to learning and unique ideas about where study may take them. Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College will support students as they make choices about the future; arming each individual with the information and personalised guidance they need to make the right moves on careers and Higher Education. As well as providing this ongoing support, the college will create opportunities for students to extend their range of extracurricular experiences, allowing them to increase in confidence and and have fun along the way, as they ready themselves for adult life.
NESA
The North East Spots Academy (NESA) will be available to all students who wish to take part in structured sporting activity. Professional coaching in men’s football, women’s football, rugby, basketball and badminton will be on offer. Students will benefit from strong partnership links with Newcastle Eagles, Newcastle Falcons, Newcastle United women’s football and Northumbria University.
Exchanges and Fieldtrips
There will be exchanges and fieldtrips across Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College’s range of A levels. Foreign trips to Poland, Norway and Italy will take place and there’ll be regular excursions to cinemas, museums, beaches, aquariums, and even outdoor adventure centres. Students should expect these trips to provide new learning opportunities and fresh perspectives on their chosen subjects. As part of their preparation for Higher Education, students will also be invited to attend university open days.
Student Development Opportunities
At Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College there’ll be a number of opportunities for students to enhance their future prospects. The Student Union, a volunteering forum and an enterprise programme all welcome students looking to develop their skills and experience. Students may also choose to join a range of clubs, including film, debating, fitness and running, and there will also be the opportunity to become a student governor.
