Set your creative side free with a practical understanding of the Fashion and Textiles industry.
The course will help you to experiment with a broad range of materials and techniques.
You'll use traditional and modern ideas including constructed, knitted, woven, printed and embroidered materials. This course is for students who are keen to develop their visual skills and take risks with their work.
There are visits to galleries, museums, workshops and studios throughout the course. You will work with fabrics, dyes, sewing equipment, heat tools, felting, knitting, printing, batik, felt making and non-traditional techniques. Final pieces can be in the form of a fashion garment, wall hanging, sculpture or a length of fabric/wallpaper and can use one or more of the techniques and media studied.
HND in Graphic Design, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, Foundation Degree in Fine Art, other degrees in Fashion, Textiles, Interior Design or Costume Design.
Career opportunities in the Fashion Industries, such as Fashion Designer, Retail Buyer and Sales and Retail Management.

Entry requirements5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C, plus an enthusiasm and interest in textiles.
Themed project and an externally set assignment and eight hour practical.
Independently selected practical work and written study, and an externally set assignment and twelve hour practical.
Component 1: Coursework.
Component 2: Externally set examination, ending with a 10 hour exam split over two weeks to complete a final piece.
Component 3: Coursework, practical work and a written study of 1500 - 3000 words. Component 4: Externally set examination ending with a 15 hour exam split over two weeks to complete a final piece.
